thunor

Thunor is a transatlantic collaboration featuring UK bassist & vocalist Alan Davey, best known for his many years as Hawkwind's frontman, but also a featured member of the Meads of Asphodel, Gunslinger, and Bedouin. For this project, he contributes vocals, electric bass, drums, and keyboards. He is joined by Chicago's Karl E. H. Seigfried, who provides orchestras of guitars and basses, both acoustic and electric.

Thunor rules the skies with a storm of space rock, jazz, classical, folk, and metal. When the Bass Monster meets the Hammer of the Bass, the result is walls of screaming lead guitars, classical bass quintets, orchestras of acoustic guitars, and Mingusian jazz explosions. Expect lightning from out of the blue.

In 2010, look for their first recording on Imaginary Chicago, which features cover art by British comics legend Boo Cook (2000 AD, the Judge Dredd Megazine).
